BML launches Amex installment payment scheme
Maldives main bank introduced Wednesday a new installment repayment scheme for its American Express Credit Card (Amex card) customers. At a small ceremony held at Evo Home furniture store in capital Malé, Bank of Maldives Limited (BML)’s online campaign manager Mohamed Saeed said that their new service “BML EasyPay” facilitates payment for Amex purchases. “[Under BML EasyPay], we will grant a period between three months and two years for customers to reimburse the bank for purchases made with their Amex credit cards at select stores. Customers can make purchases up to their credit card limits under this scheme,” he said. Saeed elaborated that the period of reimbursement will be settled by the customer. Repayments also include an interest rate of five percent. “This scheme is available only for customers who regularly repay their Amex card purchases,” said Saeed. He added that the stores currently selected for the EasyPay scheme are Evo Home, Index Furniture, Sonee Sports and Lé Cute Lifestyle, with more stores to be added on over time.
