Ahmed Raaid، the 20 year old youth wanted by the authorities following the stabbing of former president Mohamed Nasheed’s Lawyer Mahfooz Saeed، has been arrested by the authorities today.
He was presented to Criminal Court today، and was remanded for 15 days in detention، pending investigation.
Mahfooz was knifed near Fresh Mart in Maaveyo Magu on 4th September. While a three hour long successful operation was carried out to remove the knife which was stabbed on his head، Mahfooz has been under treatment in Sri Lanka ever since.
 
Meanwhile، following the stabbing INTERPOL issued a red notice to search for two people in relation to the case of the the attack on the former president Nasheed’s lawyer، Mahfooz Saeed; Shafraz Ibrahim Hussain، 23، and Ahmed Raaid، 20.
Shafraz is being hunted by the authorities.
The case is under investigation by Police’s Serious and Organized Crime Department.
