Questions have now been raised whether the plot to frame former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim was planned since last year.
Questions were raised when MNDF SPG Corporal Ahmed Amir and Head of Military Police Abdulla Zuhree’s name was presented as witnesses to prove that a 9mm pistol like the pistol found in Nazim’s residence got lost by MNDF last year.
Some analysts believe that this pistol was recorded lost last year to frame Colonel Nazim.
Chief of Staff Major General Ahmed Shiyam’s name was also presented as a witness to court to prove that the state did not follow the procedures as mentioned by law regarding how the state should react to the information regarding smuggling and possession of weapons.
Nazim’s attorney’s presented President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s name as a witness to prove that he was informed of a death threat by Tourism Minister Ahmed Adheeb during a conference call of Nazim with him and Home Minister Umar Naseer.
Umar Naseer was presented as a witness to prove that he heard Adheeb threatening Nazim during that call.
