MP for Kanditheemu constituency Mohamed Hussein has urged to establish a special office in the Peoples’ Majlis to manage issues related to the state budget.
Speaking at the Peoples’ Majlis yesterday, MP Mohamed Hussein said that it is important to make a special office and a special committee for this with independent staffs. He said that the budget submission, debates and amendments are not going very justly therefore it is very important to establish such an office.
“Policies that are outdated should be renewed. They should be replaced by modern policies,” he said.
He said that GCE A’Level classes will be terminated in Shaviyani Atoll. “We should know why and how this is happening. We should know what the new policies are. We should include in the budget the project to build a state of the art hospital which will give quality health services including kidney transplants, cancer treatments and heart treatments,” he said.
Mohamed Hussein said that he does not believe that the ad hoc budget committee can undertake their responsibilities as justly as possible.
