PM Modi’s decision is to provide all assistance needed until water crisis is resolved- Sahare

Indian High Commissioner to Maldives, Rajeev Sahare has stated that the Indian Prime Minister Narendar Modi’s decision regarding the water crisis in the Maldives is to provide assistance and cooperation to Maldives until the water crisis is resolved.
Rajeev Sahare made this remark speaking to the media following the arrival of the INS Deepak in Maldives Sunday night, carrying 900 tons of water to help with the Male’ Water Crisis.
The High Commissioner said that the foreign Minister Dunya Maumoon requested assistance from the Indian government through a call to Indian External Minister Sushma Swaraj who in turn had called Indian Prime Minister Nahendra Modi and help came within less than 12 hours in the form of bottled drinking water on board a military aircraft. A total of 10 sorties have arrived in Maldives carrying bottled drinking water since then.
High Commissioner Sahare said that this shows that the Indian government is always ready to attend to the assistance requested by Maldives.
