Kendhoo constituency MP Ali Hussein has said that the state budget passed for 2015 is a record budget for Kendhoo constituency.
He said that PSIP projects have been allocated for Kendhoo constituency more than ever by the government in the budget for next year.
“Kendhoo sewerage system is also mentioned. Budget has been allocated for the harbor. Kudarikil School is also mentioned. Kihadhoo harbor is mentioned. Dhonfanu harbor is also mentioned. These projects were not mentioned in any of the previous budgets. I would like to thank the government for including these in the state budget,” he said.
Ali Hussein said that passing the budget is easy but the coming days will be difficult.
“That is days to implement the budget as passed. That is what is going to be tiresome and hard. We have experienced that this year. In 2014 we have seen some ministries getting dissolved. However we did not see the budget allocated for them changed to the other ministries from within the Peoples’ Majlis,” he said.
MP Ali Hussein said that this is not how it is supposed to be as per the constitution.
“With the dissolution of a ministry, the state budget allocated for that ministry should be allocated to the other ministries from within the Peoples’ Majlis. Doing other than that is opposing the constitution. I am trying to say is that we can allocate different matters in the budget. However, the work that is coming, that is to implement the budget will be much harder,” he said.
