The former President of Adhaalath Party and currently the opposition Maldivian Democratic Party (MDP) member، Sheikh Hussain Rasheed has criticized Adhaalath Party (AP) and compared it with ‘a woman who gets divorced a lot’.
Sheikh Rasheed made his statement on a Raajje TV program today.
As one of the founding members of Adhaalath Party (AP)، Sheikh Rasheed said the name “Adhaalath” was given to the party by him، and the party is still registered under his personal address.
He said he was ousted from the party during Ex-President Mohamed Nasheed’s administration by a plot of certain people، and since then the party has been acting like a ‘woman who is getting divorced a lot’.
Sheikh Rasheed further raised concerns regarding the arrest of Ex-President Mohamed Nasheed on terror charges، and condemned Police’s brutality in riot control during the recent protests in capital Male’ city.
In addition، he said the meaning of “Adhaalath” can be called as a ‘referee’ and، such ones do not blow the whistle and leave the ground after a problem arises.
