A Maldivian man, identified as Fayyaz Dawood from B. Thulhaadhoo, is currently in critical condition and on a ventilator following an explosion in Munich, Germany.
According to a friend of Fayyaz, who spoke to Sun, the incident occurred on the 8th of this month. Fayyaz sustained serious injuries, including 50 percent burns on his body, severe damage to his calves, and a deterioration of his mental condition.
"There was water in his lungs as well, but thank God, his lungs are better now," Fayyaz's friend explained.

Hospital officials informed Fayyaz's friend that the burns were caused by combustion from gas and chemicals.
Fayyaz is currently receiving treatment in the ICU of Bogenhausen Hospital in Munich. He is known as one of the first kitesurfers in the Maldives and resides in Germany.
Efforts to reach the Foreign Ministry for comment on the incident were unsuccessful. However, Fayyaz's friend stated that the matter is being prepared for submission to the ministry.
