37 Individuals Checked in Immigration Raid at Rathu Market; 15 Found Working Illegally

The Maldives Immigration Task Force conducted a special raid operation at Rathu Market in Hulhumalé yesterday evening as part of its continued efforts to address the issue of illegal expatriates in the country.
According to Immigration, 37 individuals were checked during the operation, including 15 expatriates, 10 men and 5 women, who were found working or conducting business illegally.
This operation forms part of broader efforts to curb illegal employment and overstaying, targeting individuals working without proper documentation, overstaying on tourist visas, or involved in illegal activities such as prostitution.
Immigration reaffirmed its commitment to continuing these operations and taking appropriate action against violators, including deportation.
