Defamation case had been filed against Commissioner of Police Hussain Waheed accusing him for stating groundless criticism against former Defence Minister Colonel (Retired) Mohamed Nazim.
The legal team of former minister filed the defamation case against CP Waheed in Civil Court today.
Though a member of Nazim’s legal team confirmed of filing a defamation case against CP Waheed، he did not state the grounds on which CP Waheed is being sued.
It is also unclear if the court accepted the case.
Reportedly the defamation case was filed against CP Waheed for his ‘baseless accusations’ against Minister Nazim during the press conference held at Iskandhar Koshi on January 29 regarding the police raid on Minister Nazim’s residence on January 18.
In the press conference on January 29، CP Waheed stated Police confiscated a handgun، three bullets، a magazine and an IED from Minister Nazim’s private apartment during the Police raid.
However، these allegations were all denied by the legal team of Nazim saying the items allegedly discovered from former Defence Minister’s private residence do not belong to Minister Nazim or a member of his family.
