Jailam Ahmed Shakir’s murder case trial scheduled for today has been cancelled.
Jailam was murdered earlier this year outside a residence near Henveiru Dharubaaruge by a group of masked suspects، who fled the scene on motorcycles after the deadly assault.
Criminal court confirms the trial had been cancelled and rescheduled due to the judge who handles case was on leave.
State has pressed charges against Naaib Saeed، Venus Villa، Hithadhoo، Addu City، Ismail Aneez، Sinamalé and Ali Irufan، Jamna، Gn. Fuvahmulah.
The remaining suspect of the case، Mohamed Humaid، Fiyajahaage، G.A. Vilingili is still at large، while Interpol is currently tracking him.
The case was initially taken off tables from Criminal Court، however it was submitted and approved when the case was ordered to be presented to High Court.
