Maldives Police Service has stated that they found a document with plans to physically harm some top leaders from the residence of former Defence Minister Mohamed Nazim.
In a press release, Maldives Police Service stated that the pen drive confiscated from the apartment during the search raid had a document with plans to physically harm some leaders. The police also stated that they got some intel that Nazim was planning to overthrow the government.
Police stated that Mohamed Nazim was arrested because of the reports that Nazim was planning a coup and given that dangerous weapons were found in Nazim’s residence during the search raid.
Nazim was brought to the court to remand his custody and the court gave him 15 days.
