Mohamed Nasheed، the fourth president of the Maldives، was the most autocratic and opressive leader Maldives has ever seen، President Abdulla Yameen alleged.
Speaking at the concluding ceremony of symposium to prepare campaign leaders for “President Yameen 2018”، the President said Nasheed was sworn in as the president within the constitutional framework، yet، he continued his leadership in autocracy، outside the law.
President said the then leadership was practicing unconstitutional acts of exhausting the authority of forces to detain people without any court orders، the attempts to negate judiciary and to obliterate the ruling powers.
Furthermore، noting that the Constitution is the fundamental rule، president Yameen said Nasheed lead an unconstitutional leadership; using defence force to detain individuals.
In addition، President Yameen said the incumbent will not practice any unlawful acts، and will continue it’s term within the framework of the constitution.
