A dangerous road accident in Fuvahmulak occurred tonight proving fatal for an elderly and leaving another individual at a critical condition being treated in ICU.
Police media official said the accident occurred at 21:50 tonight at Muhammad Jamaluddin Naib Thutthu Magu when a motorbike at a high speed hit a passerby.
The passerby was reportedly the elderly who passed away at Fuvahmulak Regional Hospital while being treated for his injuries from the accident.
The 52 year old man، Ahmed Abdulla of Maadandu District، was reportedly an Imaam at a mosque.
Vaguthu Correspondents at Fuvahmulak said Ahmed was out at jogging in the middle of the road when he was hit by the speeding motorbike.

The individual riding the motorbike sustained serious injuries، and was being treated in ICU. Reports say he is currently being transferred to Male’ for further treatment.
Mohamed Farzad، the manager at Fuvahmulak Hospital said the condition of the youth injured still has not stabled، which is complicating his transfer to Male’.
The elderly has been taken for burial after the Police took x-ray and medical samples for investigation.
The locals and police at Fuvahmulak informed the accident is the deadliest recently، and the first one in Ramadan in Fuvahmulak.
