Bank of Maldives announces competition for new children’s savings account

Bank of Maldives has announced a new competition to inspire children to save today for a brighter tomorrow.
The campaign consists of 2 parts: a poster competition, and a naming contest for the new children’s savings account that BML will soon be introducing.
For the poster competition, children are encouraged to submit posters in line with the theme ‘Save for the Future’. The winning artwork will win MVR5,000 as a grand prize, and could be featured in the campaign.
As part of the competition, BML will also be welcoming suggestions for the name of the new children’s savings account. The selected grand prize winner will also receive MVR5,000.
All posters and names must be uploaded to the BML website www.bankofmaldives.com.mv, and winners will be selected based on votes received. Top 5 from each category will be chosen and will also receive a prize of MVR3,000. Grand Prize winners will be selected by the Bank.
To encourage saving, the prize money will be deposited to the winners’ new accounts.
Commenting on the campaign, BML’s CEO and Managing Director Andrew Healy said, “Encouraging good saving values in children from an early age will provide a foundation for a brighter future for them. We will soon introduce a dedicated savings account for children to help them start their savings journey. It seems sensible to involve children themselves in the design of the product and we look forward to receiving some great ideas over the weeks ahead.”
