Academic year of 2014 has concluded along with handing over school report forms to students.
According to Education Ministry، the years total academic days were 196 of which، first semester consisted of 95 days while second semester consisted of 101 days. But due to dismissal of classes of grades lower than 9th standard، second semester only consisted of 72 actual academic days.
This year a total of 86096 students studied in pre-schools، primary schools and secondary schools.
Teachers active for this year totals to 9200، of which 7000 are local teachers. Whereas teachers recruited from India inclusive in foreign teachers consisted of the remaining 2200.
Next year’s academic calender schedules the starting of academic year as January 11th according to Ministry of Education، and the academic days are set for 202 studying days.
In addition to this، Education Minister Dr. Aaishath Shiham states government has achieved all expected targets for the current year.
