Abdul Azeez – the best all round student of 27th Police Basic Course

Police constable Abdul Azeez Zakariyya has been chosen as the best all round student of the 27th Police Basic Course. This is a course aimed at officers newly joining the police service and is organised by Institute for Security and Law Enforcement Studies (ISLES).
The course was about 7 months long starting from the 25th Of Janauary this year. The certificate and prize was awarded to the best all round student at the closing ceremony held at Iskandhar Koshi today.
Chief guest of the ceremony، Minister of Economic Development، Mohamed Saeed gave away the medal to Abdul Azeez Zakariyya.
In addition to being selected as the best all round student of the whole course، Abdul Azeez Zakariyya was also chosen as the best student in indoor activities and from his squad as well.
While second place of the course was awarded to constable Ali Nahid، third place was awarded to Ahmed Vishah.
Haji platoon received the best platoon award from the course. Commissioner of Police، Hussain Waheed gave away the shield to the winning platoon.
Although 77 candidates started the course، only 50 successful participants received certificates today. While 17 participants had to withdraw from the course for medical reasons، 10 participants are yet to complete the course.
Speaking at this ceremony، CP Waheed said that the participants who were unable to complete the course will be given the opportunity to finish the full course، and that among the 50 participants who received certificates today، there will be no one who hasn’t completed the Police Basic Course.
Participants of the courses included 4 degree level participants، 10 diploma level participants، 6 certificate level participants، 17 A level participants and 23 O level participants.
In addition to physical training، operational safety and tactics، rules and regulations، modules related to the work of police was also taught during the course.
Carried out over the course of one year، the first stage of this training was held at the Police Training School in Dh.Vani.
The 50 policemen who received their certificates today will spend 9 more months in probation to experience the learnings of the Police Training School.
The participants of the course are expected to pass the assignments given at both the training school and during the probation period.
