Telecom giant Ooredoo Maldives introduced its Youth Ambassador Programme to train local youth for employment on Tuesday.
In a statement released on Wednesday, Ooredoo announced that the first phase of the programme will be carried out in the island of Eydhafushi in Baa atoll.
Ooredoo’s Youth Ambassador Programme is designed to train and instil the necessary skills in young entrepreneurs and youth working in senior positions of various sectors.
According to the company, the first part of the programme is a one day training seminar to shed light on the ropes of entrepreneurship, business communication, customer centricity, discipline and teamwork. Ooredoo is offering a three month internship at its office for the top scorers of Ooredoo’s assessments during this seminar.
Ooredoo will also offer its top student of the internship a scholarship for Diploma in Business Management.
The company declared that the training sessions will open youth’s eyes to the real environment of business, teach them the skills required for entrepreneurship and succeed in today’s digitalised world.
Ooredoo added in its statement that it plans to expand the programme to other regions of the Maldives.
