Maldives emphasises strong bilateral relations with China

President Ibrahim Mohamed Solih has emphasised the strong bilateral relations between the Maldives and China and discussed further enhancing the existing ties between the two countries, focusing on areas such as tourism, education, sports, and agriculture. He made the statement during a courtesy call paid by the Governor of Yunnan Province of China Wang Yubo.
During the meeting, President Solih expressed sincere appreciation for the support of the government of China in advancing the socioeconomic development of the Maldives. Speaking in the meeting, Governor Wang expressed interest in collaborating with the Maldives on mutually beneficial initiatives, particularly in the fields of trade and commerce.
In conclusion, both President Solih and Governor Wang expressed confidence in the continuous collaboration between the Maldives and China, both bilaterally and on the international stage, to address shared concerns and fortify the bonds of friendship and cooperation between the two countries.
