President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended greetings to the President and the Prime Minister of India on the occasion of its Independence Day.
In a message published on X, the President extended his best wishes to Her Excellency President Droupadi Murmu, His Excellency Prime Minister Narendra Modi, the Government, and the people of India.
Describing India as a trusted development partner of the Maldives, the President expressed hope that the celebrations would reflect the spirit and achievements of the Indian people.
He also highlighted the recent growth in high-level exchanges and people-to-people contact between the two nations, saying it underscored the strong cooperation they have built over the years.
This year marks the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Maldives and India.
