Tourism Minister Ali Waheed, on Monday, he expected the COVID-19 outbreak situation in Maldives to be controlled within two to six weeks.
At a National Emergency Operations Center press briefing on Monday afternoon, Ali Waheed said that similar to the experiences of other countries, he expected Maldives to have its COVID-19 situation under control within two to six weeks after the surge in virus numbers it was currently experiencing.
He said that he still hoped to be able to reopen the tourism industry in July ‘if everything goes well’.
