Over 755K holidaymakers visit Maldives by August end

The latest Maldives Tourism Bulletin from Ministry of Finance confirms the total tourist arrivals to Maldives reached 755,966 by the end of August 2021.
Moreover, as per the ministry this arrival total indicates an increase of 92.7% in terms of year-on-year tourist arrivals – when compared with the corresponding period of 2020.
Statistics from the state body also confirm that the total tourist arrivals to Maldives exclusively in August reached 143,599 marking a 3.1% increment in comparison with the same month in 2019 and a significant improvement of 1780.5% when compared with the same month in 2020.
Meanwhile, the daily average of tourist arrivals in August stood at 4,632 while the average duration of stay increased to 9.6 days in the review month from 9.1 days in July.

Moreover, it was recently reported that the tourist arrivals as of 06 September reached a total of 781,325 while India replaced Russia to become the top source market with a share of 21.5% of the total arrivals.
