The Non-Resident High Commissioner of the Republic of Kenya to the Maldives, His Excellency Peter Munyiri Maina, presented his Letter of Credence to His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu, at a ceremony held this morning at the President's Office.
The High Commissioner was escorted to the President’s Office from Republic Square in a cultural procession, “Haiykolhu,” with the Maldives National Defence Force (MNDF) Drum and Trumpet Band.
Following the presentation of credentials, the President and the High Commissioner discussed expanding trade and tourism as well as other areas of mutual interest between the two nations.
Diplomatic relations between the Maldives and Kenya were established on October 23, 1995.
