His Excellency President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has extended condolences to the Prime Minister of India, His Excellency Narendra Modi, following the terror attack that took place in Pahalgam yesterday.
The President expressed deep shock and sorrow over the tragic incident, which resulted in the loss of innocent lives and left many injured.
He emphasised the threat posed by terrorism to peace, security, and democratic values, reaffirming the Maldives’ steadfast commitment to combating terrorism in all its forms and manifestations. He described the act of violence as a stark reminder of the urgent need for global unity, international collaboration, and cooperation.
President Dr Muizzu also conveyed sympathies on behalf of the Maldivian people, extending heartfelt condolences to the families of the victims and wishing a swift recovery for the injured. He further expressed his thoughts and prayers for the Prime Minister and the people of India during this difficult time.
The President also expressed condolences in a separate message posted on his official X account earlier today.
