Bank of Maldives has on Monday announced its Sports Scholarship as part of its 12 high impact monthly community initiatives to celebrate leading up to the Bank’s 40th anniversary in November 2022.
The bank explained the purpose of the Scholarship program is to support athletes achieve their sporting potential through targeted programs. The bank will provide three fully funded scholarships for top national athletes to train and develop at recognized high performance training centres worldwide.
The Scholarships will be managed in association with Maldives Olympic Committee (MOC) and will be open to all registered national sports associations.
BML’s In-charge and Acting MD, Aishath Noordeen commented, “BML remains committed to playing an important part in developing sporting talent in the country through youth development programs and partnerships with national associations. Today, we are further delighted to announce our new Sports Scholarship to support top athletes to achieve greatness on the national and international stage. Our monthly initiatives continue to focus on giving back to the community and investing in the future of the country.”
BML further said details of the application process will be published at a later date.
