Former Commissioner of Police (retired) Abdulla Riyaz has said that the justness of the investigation of the case of Colonel Mohamed Nazim is questionable as the President Abdulla Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s government refused to investigate the case via an independent commission.
Kinbidhoo constituency MP and also the Deputy PG Group leader of the Jumhooree Party, Riyaz said that the Police did not conduct the raid on Nazim’s residence as per the regulations of the police regarding group operations.
He said that it is important to form an independent commission to investigate the case.
Abdulla Riyaz said that it is against the best practice for the government to rely only on the word of the Police regarding the case while the police violated their regulations.
