President Abdullah Yameen Abdul Qayyoom has launched a MVR 50 million loan scheme aimed at youth.
The low interest loan scheme was introduced in a ceremony held Wednesday night. Speaking in the ceremony, President Yameen said that this loan scheme will facilitate an avenue for youth to develop and gain employment opportunities.
The loan scheme is aimed at small to mid-sized businesses with a low interest rate. Economic Ministry reported that under the loan scheme existing businesses can apply to expand their businesses.
Economic Minister Mohamed Saeed presented complementary editions of Maldives Doing Business and Invest Maldives Guide Books to the President.
In the ceremony, President Yameen briefed the participants on many of his economic and business policies and answered the questions of the participants.
