National Security Services Committee (241 Committee) has rejected the petition filed regarding the missing Minivan News journalist Ahmed Rilwan's disappearance.
Speaking to the press, Member of Parliament for Maafannu North Constituency, Imthiyaz Fahmy stated that the Committee had rejected the petition upon the basis that the requirements of Article 199 and Article 200 under the Parliament’s regulations were not fulfilled.
MP Imthiyaz stated that although the petition had been rejected, they will not back down.
Additionally, MP Imthiyaz Fahmy expressed his concern over the government interposing their authority over the Committees.
He noted that the fact that all three Committees rejecting Rilwan’s petitions takes the country further into the darkness which the country has endured.
