Chinese automakers have produced more than 25،000 new energy vehicles in June، which is four times as many manufactured as in the same month last year.
The surge is mainly due to Chinese government promoting the usage of less polluting vehicles – backed by new data indicated on Tuesday.
Breaking down on last month’s manufacturing log of China، the country has produced 10،500 electric cars، growing by 200% year by year along with the production of 6،663 plugin hybrid cars، growing up to 700% according to Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT).
All the while، the output of electric commercial vehicles had reached 6،218، up 500% year on year، while the output of plugin hybrid commercial vehicles grew up to 148% to 1،645. The June released data brought the total output of new energy vehicles in the first half of 2015 to 78،500، up 300% year on year according to MIIT.
However it did not provide figures for the numbers or automotive sales in China for the month of June.
The Ministry of Commerce told earlier this year that China will continue building charging facilities in cities across the country and allow tax exemptions and subsidies for new energy vehicle purchases.
