Kaashidhoo Constituency MP Faisal Naseem has appealed to use this year when we are marking the Golden Jubilee of the country, as a year of mercy.
He made the statement speaking in the debate session of the Bill on Amendment to the Company Act, which was tabled by Gan Constituency MP Fayyaz Ismail, which had proposed to strike off the fees which was owed by old companies to the Government.
Faisal stated that under the spirit of the independence, this year should be one of mercy and called to accept the motion to grant a reprieve to many small business owners. He added that priority should be given to those bills that grants easier lives to the public, especially those who are in great need of assistance. As such, he stated that it was worrying that the Disability Allowance Act, an Act that impacts the lives of many differently abled persons and their families, was still tied up in the Committee stage.
Faisal urged all Parliamentarians to seek a resolution for the issue and stated that the issue had been in the Parliament for quite a while. He added that no allocation has been made for next year’s budget for the resolution.
