Free Trade agreement will facilitate trade between two nations: China

China has stated that with the new Free Trade agreement, signed on Tuesday in Kurumba Maldives, will facilitate further trade between Maldives and China.
Speaking in the signing ceremony, Chinese vice Minister of Commerce Gao Yan stated that the free trade agreement will be a boost to local businesses and that China had joined the agreement for the mutual benefits to the two nations.
She noted that China is already invested in the airport development project, bridge project, the 15 km road in Laamu Atoll as well as the housing projects. Gao said that those projects were undertaken by their Government for the development of Maldives.
Gao noted the role Maldives had played in progressing the 21st century Maritime Silk Route and added that the Maldives will receive all the benefits from the project.
She also assured that China will assist the Government in developing human and knowledge resources.
