Central Bank of Maldives, Maldives Monetary Authority (MMA) will be open on Monday and Wednesday in the following week, despite a lockdown and curfew ordered in the capital.
MMA stated that the days were scheduled for banks to open and that the central bank would only be serving banks on essential matters only.
The central bank will be open from 9:30 to 12:30 and MMA will inform the time for other banks in the country to open on those days.
The government offices in the country have been closed since March 19 due to the situation with COVID-19. However, essential services are being continued despite the lockdown.
