Jumhoory Party deputy cleared of police obstruction charge

Lawmaker of Kinbidhoo constituency, Abdulla Riyaz, who was prosecuted over obstructing Police, was on Sunday of his charges.
During the sentence hearing of his trial early Sunday, the three judges of the Criminal Court unanimously agreed that Riyaz is not guilty of the charges against him.
Riyaz ,who is the deputy leader of Jumhoory Party (JP), was charged with obstruction of Police for refusing to give up his mobile phone to an officer with a court order last March.
The Judges’ bench include judges Ahmed Shakeel, Adam Arif and Ali Adam.
