The Maldives has officially handed over the USD 800,352 raised through the telethon organised by the Public Service Media (PSM) to raise funds for Sri Lanka in the aftermath of Cyclone Ditwah.
The funds were presented by Maldivian High Commissioner to Sri Lanka, Mas’ood Imad on behalf of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
The telethon, held in collaboration with 37 media outlets in the Maldives, ran from 29 November to 1 December, and received a significant response from citizens, government institutions, companies, clubs and associations. The funds were collected through a dedicated bank account and fund boxes placed across Male’ City, with the process overseen by independent audit firm, Crowe Maldives, to ensure transparency.
