President Dr Mohamed Muizzu has expressed heartfelt appreciation to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for their outstanding arrangements and generous hospitality for Maldivian pilgrims during Hajj. He conveyed his gratitude during a courtesy call from Saudi Arabia’s Minister of Hajj and Umrah, Dr Tawfig F. Al-Rabiah, held Sunday at the Hajj and Umrah office in Minaa.
During the meeting, President Dr Muizzu extended his profound gratitude to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, for their sincere consideration towards Maldivian pilgrims and for the outstanding services provided.
The President highlighted that the Maldives’ inclusion in the Makkah Route Initiative has greatly facilitated travel procedures for pilgrims and commended the exceptional hospitality and accommodation arrangements made for this year’s Hajj.
President Dr Muizzu and First Lady Madam Sajidha Mohamed, accompanied by a high-level delegation, are currently in Saudi Arabia to perform the Hajj pilgrimage. The delegation is being hosted by the Government of Saudi Arabia, a generous gesture that reflects the close brotherly ties and longstanding friendship between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
Earlier on Sunday, President Muizzu met with Crown Prince and Prime Minister Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The meeting focused on strengthening bilateral relations between the Maldives and Saudi Arabia.
