Former President Mohamed Nasheed has alleged that today the people in power are trying to unify all powers of state under their power.
Nasheed made this remark following the decision of the Peoples’ Majlis to remove the two judges of the Supreme Court.
Opposition leader Nasheed said that the ruling party is trying to unify the judiciary with the executive power of the state.
He said that MDP came out to the streets not to protect some judges but to advocate for the rights of the people.
Nasheed said that democracy and justice has today been demolished by this decision of the Majlis.
In addition to this Nasheed said that bribery is the most disgusting of deed against democratic values. He accused the government of giving bribes even in the cabinet.
