Mohamed Maleeh Jamaal has been terminated and replaced from his designation of Youth Minister with recent Health Minister Mohamed Zuhoor.
The new Health Minister assigned to fill for the vacant post is Irthisam Adam. She had been the deputy minister of Gender Ministry until recently.
Zuhoor had initially held the designation of Commissioner of Customs، however he was then elected as the Health Minister after receiving approval from People’s Majlis.
Previously Irthisham had been the Ambassador of Maldives at Switzerland as well as the representative of Maldives at World Trade Organization. She had also been an Ambassador of Maldives to UN administrative center at Geneva as well.
So far no definitive on the reason for sacking Mohamed Maleeh from Youth Ministry has been revealed، however it is reported that Mr. Maleeh received the notice of termination while he was present at Youth Ministry.
State government has been absent for a comment on the latest cabinet reform.
While President Yameen Abdul Gayoom’s cabinet sees the new reform، both newly elected Youth Minister and Health Minister had taken their oath of responsibility in a special ceremony held today at President’s office.
