President Yameen Abdul Gayoom has finalized the official working hours of government offices for the month of Ramadan.
The official working hours for government offices will start at 10:00hrs lasting until 14:00hrs. The revised time for government offices had been now confirmed and circulated by the President’s Office.
In addition to this، working hours for government bodies during the first 7 days of the month of Shavval had been assigned at 10:00hrs as well، however the closing time during this period is 14:30hrs.
The official working hours for government entities has been the same during last year’s Ramadan.
While office hours have been revised for Ramadan according to the mentioned timings، school duration for the month of Ramadan will be 3 hours، with single session schools having classes from 09:00hrs till 12:00hrs، while double-session schools will have classes from 08:30hrs till 11:00hrs and at 11:45hrs until 15:00hrs.
Pre-school classes will start at 08:30hrs and the classes must be concluded by 15:00hrs. However، school class hours and idle time for students will be administered by school boards and island council authorities according to Education Ministry.
According to the Gregorian calender، this year’s Ramadan 1st falls on the 18th of June.
