Sheikh Ali Zahir bin Saeed Qasim has said that Islam prohibits causing injustice even against ones enemies.
Sheikh Ali Zahir said that Islam says not let your hatred of a people cause you to be unjust to them.
“Rather you must be just to everyone, friends or enemies, this is why Allah said: 'Be just: that is closer to piety' Meaning being just is closer to piety than being unjust,” he said.
Sheikh Ali Zahir made this remark in a time when the government is tyrannizing Gasim Ibrahim, the Jumhooree Party leader out of political rivalry.
Sheikh Ali Zahir said that it is not permissible to oppress anyone regardless of the cause. He said that political rivalry and hatred should not be the cause of injustice against anyone.
Allah said in Surah Maidah, which means "O you who believe! Stand out firmly for Allah as just witnesses; and let not the enmity and hatred of others allow you to avoid justice. Be just: that is closer to piety; and fear Allah. Indeed, Allah is Well-Acquainted with what you do."
