Gender Ministry has refuted two reports published on two media regarding five minors facing maltreatment and sexual abuse from their parents.
The two reports were published on Sun Online and Vaguthu Online.
Urging the media to be ‘responsible’ and to consider the seriousness of the discussed matters، Gender Ministry had noted that the reports contain false information.
The source، who reported to Vaguthu Online، stated that the five minors، aged between 4 to 13، were victims of sexual abuse and maltreatment from their mother and step father.
In a press briefing held today، Police had also noted that the media reports have false information، however، stated that the children were living in deteriorating conditions، not appropriate for children.
