So far 634 cases of dengue fever has been reported this year in the Maldives، says Health Protection Agency (HPA).
Statistical report publicized by the agency shows that 86 cases were reported between July 5 and July 10، and a total of 154 cases reported last week.
A total of 78 cases were reported from Male’ last week، and 19 cases in Hulhumale’.
HPA says a total of 285 cases were reported from Male’، 349 cases were reported from other atolls، totaling to 634 cases this year، of which 30% are expatriates.
Four persons have died due to dengue fever this year، while two were reported dead due to dengue fever last year، which had 775 reports of dengue.
