German reporters visit Maldives on tourism familiarization trip

A team of German reporters have arrived to Maldives as part of the ongoing tourism familiarization series by MMPRC.
The premier tourism promoting act, Maldives Marketing and Public Relations Corporation (MMPRC) initiated the series in order to provide a direct and hands-on experience for international reporters regarding Maldivian tourism.
This marks the third time a German reporter delegate has arrived under the ongoing familiarization series; with the current team consisting of reporters from German, Austrian and Switzerland based news agencies.
The running theme for this trip is ‘Discover a Brand New Experience’ while the reporter team will be staying at You & Me by Cocoon Maldives, Residence Maldives Dhigurah and Pullman Maldives Maamutaa Resort.
All three resort destinations were officially opened during 2019.
The reporter team will experience specially curated activities and excursions, to better understand the depths of Maldivian hospitality.
Germany is listed among the strongest and longest contributing tourist market to Maldives.
In a mission to boost the tourist count from the European destination, Maldives have taken part in prominent German-based tourism fairs such as the ITB.
According to Tourism Ministry, visitors from Germany in 2019 reached 151,414 as of October stats.
