Deputy Speaker of the parliament, MP Moosa Manik have said the parliament session 27th March will be conducted according to the regulations even if all the citizens of Maldives surround or not surround the parliament building.
Speaking to the press at the parliament building Moosa said that he will not do anything unlawful during the session and also will not allow anyone to conduct unlawful activities or obstruct lawful procedure of the parliament.
In addition, Moosa said that the opposition filed a censure motion against the speaker not because there is no work going on in the parliament. Moosa said that the 17th Parliament finished the most number of work in the shortest period. Moosa also said that the deputy speaker acts under the direction of the speaker and even if members have problems with the proceedings of the parliament they cannot put the deputy speaker at fault.
Moosa condemned the oppositions call for people to gather in Male’ on 27th of March. Some journalists asked Moosa about his call for people to gather in Male’ to remove the chief justice. Answering that Moosa said that ideologies do not stay the same always.
