Second phase of discussions initiated yesterday between Qasim Ibrahim’s Jumhooree Party and Maldivian government.
The discussion was held at President’s Office yesterday، at 15:00hrs. The meeting was attended by Housing Minister Dr. Mohamed Muizzu، who met with JP officials on-behalf President Office’s Minister Mohamed Hussain Shareef (Mundhu)، who currently is abroad.
Initial discussions took place in Tuesday، at which both parties had proposed discussions points for the next meeting، for possible arrangements to be made.
JP had presented four clauses for the discussion، which includes providing leniency to political figures through constitutional rights، enacting a multi-party based platform at which all local political parties can actively discuss on pressing matters، securing the investments of those who are investing in Maldives and discussion panels with opposition political parties prior to any legislative amendment to the Maldives Constitution.
Government had also presented their own three clauses for the discussions with JP.
The discussions will be attended by Majlis MPs Hussain Mohamed، Ilham Ahmed، Faisal Naseem and Abdulla Riyaz who would be representing Jumhooree Party.
Government representatives for the discussions are Tourism Minister Ahmed Adeeb، Environment Minister Thoriq Ibrahim and President Office Minister Mohamed Hussain Shareef.
