A 40 year old local individual arrested from A.A Atoll Dhigurah over the crime of sexually abusing an 8 year old child، has been transferred under house arrest.
Shortly after the family of the abuse victim had been notified of the offense، they had reported the case to authorities in April، 2015. Authorities had made arrest of the suspect linked to the case in the same month of reporting.
According to a police media official، the convict had been transferred to house arrest following a High Court rule when his case had been presented for appeal.
Police had additionally informed that the individual was moved to house arrest some days prior to Ramadan.
The sexual abuse case had been notified around three months back، when a school teacher of the victim had informed about it to the family members. The victim states that she had been taken to a hut located in the jungle of Dhigurah، by the suspect – where she was sexually victimized.
