Progressive Party of the Maldives, PPM have said that the statements made by former President Nasheed about the President of PPM, Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom are lies.
Speaking to Miadhu, the secretary general of PPM Mr. Aleem said tonight that the statements made by Nasheed saying that Maumoon has joined the opposition coalition to topple the government are all lies.
Aleem said that Nasheed did not talk or have had any kind of deals with Maumoon or PPM so far and what Nasheed told are all lies.. He urged all parties not to spread such baseless stories about Maumoon and PPM.
Aleem said that, President Maumoon assured to the media that he did not communicate with Nasheed or anyone else in such a way. Also Aleem said that even PPM has released a statement, dismissing such allegations.
Aleem further said that PPM does not want to respond to everything Nasheed says or respond every time Nasheed says something and that they do not see that as important.
“That is why President Maumoon tweeted today saying that a truth will be the truth even if it is said once, and that a lie will be a lie even if it is repeated 1000 times” said Aleem.
A senior figure of PPM said that Nasheed is using Maumoon’s name to become more famous because Nasheed is failing in every possible way.
