A team of Police officers have gone to Kaafu Atoll Guraidhoo to investigate a case of 12 students molested.
Police Media Official said following a report filed by Guraidhoo school on 5th February regarding a case associated with underage children، a team of Police officers from Child Protection Department were dispatched to Guraidhoo on Monday afternoon to start an investigation.
Meanwhile، a team of officials from Gender Ministry are expected to depart to Guraidhoo to investigate the case as well.
Reportedly a group of local residents from Guraidhoo are responsible for the sexual abuse of several minors studying in grades 1 to 7 in Guradhoo school.
“Several kids are saying they were sexually abused، and that they are hurt. The case was reported by the school”، a spokesperson at Guraidhoo said.
No one has been arrested regarding the case yet.
