Chancellor of Islamic University Dr.Shaheem Ali Saeed has advised all students to aim for the moon.
He made this statement while speaking at the prize day of Villa International High School last night. Dr.Shaheem said that all students should always aim to reach the top and they can achieve their goals with hard work only.
Dr.Shaheem said that few years back even students had to work to make money and hence those days students are often tired due to their work. “ Today’s students don’t have any such work. But they are still tired and their minds are tired as well” said Dr.Shaheem
He said that today’s students are tired because they spend too much time on social media. He said that student should not be tired and worn out like that because the work needed to study can only be done when the brain and body is fresh. He said that one can be a leader by becoming a leader.
Dr.Shaheem said that foreigners are more knowledgeable because they read books. “Even if they visit Maldives for holidays they bring a book. That is why they are more knowledgeable. Reading should not be stopped at any age. You should always have some books with you. I have books even now. Where ever I work I have some special books” said Dr.Shaheem
Dr.Shaheem asked the students to do two things. He asked them not to make sudden decisions, and instead to make well planned decisions. He then asked all the students to be disciplined at all times. He said that one’s attire should always be in a way that is acceptable among the community. He also asked the students to respect the parents and the teachers. He also said that real beauty is not the clothes one wear but real beauty is discipline.
He said that any field of study is important if it is useful for the society and he advised all students to work hard to gain knowledge from various fields.
