BML advised customers to be vigilant of phishing SMS sent by the Fraudsters

Bank of Maldives (BML) has advised customers to be vigilant as phishing SMS are being sent by the Fraudsters.
According to the bank, the messages were meant to obtain personal information of the customers through fraudulent means. Messages sent in the name of the bank states that the customer’s bank account is on hold and they should enter the link to upgrade the information.
Moreover, bank stated that fraudsters use spoofed numbers to send SMS with external links. Therefore, customers are advised to not to click to such links as BML does not send SMS to customers with any links.
