Nolhivaranfaru Lycan has won the women’s division of Thila Dhekunu Volleyball Tournament consecutively for third year.
Nolhivaranfaru Lycan won the final match of women’s division against Team Hanimaadhoo 3 sets to 1 set to clinch the title. The sets went (16/25, 25/16, 25/16, 25/15). Aminath Joozaan Zareer from Lycan was selected as the best player of the final match.
The top six players of the women’s division are: Hawwa Rashida – Team Hanimaadhoo, Aminath Areesha – Nolhivaranfaru Lycan, Fathimath Joozaan Zareer – Nolhivaranfaru Lycan, Aishath Unaisha – Neykurendhoo Women’s Volleyball Team, Maldha Masood – Team Hanimaadhoo, and Hawwa Sakha – Nolhivaranfaru Lycan. Moreover, Abdul Rasheed Mohamed, the coach of Lycan, was selected the best coach while Vaikaradhoo Team Viyes was selected as the fair play team.
A total of four teams participated in the men’s division of the tournament. The teams are Team Hanimaadhoo, Vaikaradhoo Viyes Volleyball Team, Kulhudhuffushi Club Corals and Team Naivaadhoo. And five teams participated in the women’s division of the tournament. They are Nolhivaranfaru Lycan, Team Hanimaadhoo, Neykurendhoo Women’s Volleyball Team, Vaikaradhoo Team Viyes and Kulhudhuffushi Hirafus Sports Club.
A cash prize of MVR 30,000 was awarded to the winning team from each division and MVR 15,000 to the runner-up team from each division.
